This is the slowest gait called the walk. It is four beats.

This is the canter, also known as lope, a slow western canter. The canter has 3 beates. Horses can canter on the right or left lead.
This gait is called the gallop. This is usually a four beat gait. A gallop an go up to 30 miles per hour!
